Why the enemy bets on our short term memory and why The Lord always stresses that we should Remember

It is in our remembering that we are able to overcome.

“Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,”

‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Trouble teaches us how to avoid or navigate a situation if it ever comes again, and because nothing is new under the sun, chances are that situations you've just gone through will be back again. And because you've been through it, you'll know how to react and what to do. This is where we as believers often fail to do something very important, and that is to REMEMBER. The enemy knows that when we are pressed, we forget to pull out our great arsenal and experience in the issue. Children of God, remember.

Whatever you are going through today, remember that the God of yesterday is still the same today. Remember that He already promised that He will never leave nor forsake you. Remember that He always keeps His promises, and that His promises are always Yes and Amen. Remember God when you're going through a storm that looks like it might kill you. Remember God when you don't know which way to go. Remember God when the going gets tough, and you feel like the only way out is to give up. Remember God. He is there with you.

He is the God in the storm with you. He is the God in the fire with you. Remember His promises. He said He will never leave you! He told you to fear not and be not dismayed. He also said that He will help you and uphold you with His righteous right hand. Remember Jesus. Remember His ultimate love for you. He loved you so much that He gave His body up for you. Remember this: this storm, this fire, this lion will not kill you. Look around and see, He is there with you.

The enemy can see Him. He is the second man in the lion's den, the fourth man in the fire, and the One who calms the storm and keeps you on the boat. Remember, He can, through faith, cause you to walk on water. I know, right?! Don't we just love Jesus!!!! Remember Jesus. You've been through this before. What did God help you do the last time? He did it before, and He can do it again. Trust Him.
